Krenica and Stella had been on patrol around the forest borders for the event. You could take them out of the city, but you couldn't, of course, take them from doing what they liked and were born to do, which was to protect others. The patrol had been uneventful and the pair finally chose a place to relax a little. Kresnica rolled over onto his back, with his front legs curled up close, and hind legs splayed in different directions. Stella chose not to spread out and instead to sit comfortably near Kres. She was the first to speak up. “Any ideas of a wish this year Kres?” The male snerked a little. “Just the same one I have every year. I wish for a set of feathered wings, so I can keep track of what’s happening from above. I’ll be able to help people from a wider range. Yourself, El?” Stella tilted her head, looking thoughtful. “I guess, if I had to wish for something, it would be a set of Stylish chains. It would be nice to have something more decorative, but still also be a weapon to protect with, if I ever needed it.” The pair looked at each other and then ended up laughing. Seems, they couldn’t stop thinking of others, even when they were supposed to be relaxing. They grinned, then sent their wishes to the sky. Kres wished for hunter’s wings, and Stella wished for stylish chains.
