Capricho ventured forth from the forests she called home, looking up at the sky's many many stars, and the swirling lights. She'd always been too busy to catch them in previous years, but her wanderings this year afforded her the chance to see them this year. The tradition was to ask for a wish, and she knew just what she'd wish for. Picking out a star that felt lucky, she whispered her wish to grow a wavy mane to the sky, grinned, and then sat down to enjoy the rest of the evening.
Mara takes a few steps forward in the field, seeing other enivi around looking at the sky. Joining them, Mara closes her eyes, making the same wish she has made since she was a child. She imagined the small red star that she occasionally sees, it was her favorite because it reminded her of her father's eyes. Wanting to keep the wish to herself, Mara thinks of her mother and sends the star her wish for longer teeth to have a trait from her as well. Maybe, this year she will be lucky and finally grow her saber fangs.
The large green ortusi strode into the field and slowly makes his way towards the center. Noticing other enivi mingling in groups, Terra feels a little strange on his own. Shrugging off the feeling he settles down and looks up to the sky. He was grateful to have been here today, being surprised he had been able to leave his duty and come celebrate. It was the first time he had participated in any traditions or celebrations in years to do his work. Thanking the stars for being able to finally have a bit of peace. Quitely he wishes for his tail to grow longer, remembering the long wrapped tails that were a tradition for the people in his village. He had been unable to regrow his tail since he cut it as a rebellious youth. Softly he spoke wishing upon the stars for himself to be able to grow it that long again. He begged any of them to listen, not caring which. After his wish, he moved back to the edge of the forest to watch from the comfort of trees.
Alcea strode calmly into the fields, looking up at the sky, and breathing a deep sigh of contentment. Nighttime was her favored time, and the skies were usually pretty. Tonight they were exceptionally pretty, with Lunae looking down on them. While she didn't put much stock into traditions, she felt like completing this one on a whim. With a deafening shout to the skies, she grinned and wished for saber fangs, before dashing off under the skies.
Laguna slowly snuck into the clearing, lifting his head and shaking his mane, and hair out. Penelope squeaked a bit indignantly at the reaction, before chittering a bit as her foot holds settled. He hadn’t intended on coming here to wish for anything, but since he was here he may as well chance it, and maybe give Penelope a bit more of a foothold. With his eyes closed tight, he thought of the wish for hair ties, so he could braid his mane. It needed to be neatened, and a neater mane, meant less chittering from his friend.
(To clarify, he’s asking for a braided mane)
Stepping lightly into the fields, and looking at the other groupings of Enivi, Inigo quietly picked out a spot that he felt was good, and had some semblance of privacy, and curled up in a loaf, looking upwards. He was smiling softly, even if the skull he wore didn’t show the smile he wore. Some days, traveling in the way he did was lonely, and it would be nice to have a friend like his father did. Kallis made great friends, and he was fond of the orange ones. Inigo let his words take form and fly to the skies, asking for an Orange Tabby Kalli.
Tannisse, running faster than she should into the field, enjoyed the cool night air as she burst into the clearing. She felt the many eyes of Lunae on her back, watching her run. Soon, she found a spot with open air, where she could see all around her. She felt the hot breath in her lungs as she slowed from her excitement. Her mind was whirring with many thoughts, dreams, and asks for the Deity. Lunae was an ever-present being in her life, she had prayed to them many a time - but she had a chance now to speak, to request something. Of course, she knew that the desperate desire for knowledge fueled her clan - but she wanted something more. the feeling she got from her recent work - fire, of course - and the burning air in her chest made her know exactly what she would ask. She looked up, determined, and asked the stars to grant her a Magma Horn, to represent her true nature within. She waited patiently, hopeful...
Vinca had taken a flight, testing out her new wings, and landed in a tree bordering a field filled with other Enivi. Why they were gathering, she had no idea. They didn’t seem to be hunting. Some of the actions of these others seemed to be opposite to what hunting was. She spied one taking off across the field, bellowing loudly about something they wanted. It seemed that the bellowing was part of a ritual? Others also seemed to be following suit. Still some others seemed to be quietly talking the noises to the sky? Yet more were focused and looking like they were concentrating like she did when she fished. Tilting her head and nearly following out of the tree she had landed in, she regained her composure. Since it seemed these Enivi were asking for something that they wanted, then maybe she could cut her current quest for a mystic lily short. She opened her mouth and let out an echoing bugle to represent her wish for the pink and lovely flower.
Sky was on a nightly walk when noticing several Enivi going somewhere, they where from several herd if memory serves correct. Curiosity guides them closer to the herds, following from a distance. When entering a field, they see Enivi looking up to the sky with their eyes closed as if doing birthday wishes. They look up to the sky too see the bright colors that replaced the otherwise black night sky, they remembered their mother talk about this, the Wishing Fields! Sky hasn't ever been to the fields before, they watched the stars for a moment before closing their eyes. Images of the stars twinkled in their mind, they wanted some reminder of this night, and started to wonder what different genes looked like, like the Celestial Appaloosa, what their mother talked about... they nod slightly as if confirming their wish to someone, they wish for a Celestial Appaloosa gene.
Caspian gave a frustrated flap of his wings, having been attempting to get his hooves on the mystic lily for weeks now. He just couldn't seem to find the elusive flower, no matter how hard he tried. If only he had help from someone more in tune with nature... Or the flower. With a huff he turned to plop onto the ground, grumpy as ever as he watched the lights twinkle and swirl in the sky. It was a beautiful sight, the festival always was. Grumpily he snorted towards the stars, frowning with the wish that came to mind. He may as well give it a shot... Right? Wishes sometimes came true, maybe he would have his granted. "Tonight I wish for the assistance of a Durasai to collect a mystic lily... Or just the flower, if you rather stars." He returned his emerald gaze to the landscape, sighing at his silliness. The stars couldn't possibly make Enivi grow from the ground or a flower magically appear... Could they?
Buttercup didn’t have a wish when she set out to the fields for the evening. She had simply went to relax a little, and maybe spend time with some of the other Enivi also coming to wish on stars. Be social, be kind, and mostly, just help others if she had seen anyone needing help. She wasn’t expecting the bugling call. She wasn’t expecting it at all, and the act made her jump a bit, and land strangely on her hoofball. The faithful hoofball finally gave up. It’s last act was to soften the fall, as Buttercup landed from her shock, and rolled to the ground unharmed, but very alarmed. She gave a defeated sigh, and shook her head at her folly. “I guess this means I do have a wish.” She snorted, and then sent her wish to the sky for a new hoofball that was two toned in color.
(To clarify, she’s asking for a rare gatchapon)
Krenica and Stella had been on patrol around the forest borders for the event. You could take them out of the city, but you couldn't, of course, take them from doing what they liked and were born to do, which was to protect others. The patrol had been uneventful and the pair finally chose a place to relax a little. Kresnica rolled over onto his back, with his front legs curled up close, and hind legs splayed in different directions. Stella chose not to spread out and instead to sit comfortably near Kres. She was the first to speak up. “Any ideas of a wish this year Kres?” The male snerked a little. “Just the same one I have every year. I wish for a set of feathered wings, so I can keep track of what’s happening from above. I’ll be able to help people from a wider range. Yourself, El?” Stella tilted her head, looking thoughtful. “I guess, if I had to wish for something, it would be a set of Stylish chains. It would be nice to have something more decorative, but still also be a weapon to protect with, if I ever needed it.” The pair looked at each other and then ended up laughing. Seems, they couldn’t stop thinking of others, even when they were supposed to be relaxing. They grinned, then sent their wishes to the sky. Kres wished for hunter’s wings, and Stella wished for stylish chains.
Terra's wish has been heard and granted!
He now has the Long Wrapped Tail trait. (Be sure to update your masterlist image within the next 30 days.)
As Caspian stares up at the sky he sees a flash of light that's noticeably brighter than the others. The star streaks across the sky, it's long, colorful tail trailing behind it as it moves closer and closer to the ground.
The star whizzes past Caspian and lands just a few feet away from his hooves.
It's small, but dazzling as it shimmers in the dark.
Something about this seems very special. Caspian has found a Wishing Star.
Sapphire came up to the field quickly, but quietly to not interrupt the thoughts of other wishers. She laid on the soft grass, watching the colors dance around in the sky. There's a soft tap on her shoulder, and when looking over it she sees the newest member of the herd; Sophie.
"Hey Sophie, come to make a wish as well?"
She whispers, and gestures to have Sophie lay by her.
"I was wondering what was going on, I've never seen this many Enivi together before..."
Sophie lays down in the grass and looks around, then to the sky.
"Or the sky looks like this."
Sapphire looks up to the sky again and smiles slightly. Before starting to explain what the Wishing Fields are, and the story on why it started. The two watched the colors dance during the story telling.
"So the stars are Lunae's eyes?"
"Mhm, they are"
"Do you think the dragon will come back?"
"Hm, the dragon may, but if it does happen there's safety precautions"
Sophie seems to get lost in the colors in the sky for a moment.
"What do I wish for?"
"That's up to you, is there anything you want?"
"Well, I wanted friends... but I already have friends now..."
Sapphire smiles, then looks back to the stars. She understands not really wanting anything except company, the world is too big to be lonely. Though tonight she does have a wish.
"What are you wishing for, Sapphire?"
"A twin berry or two..."
"You want twins?"
The two fell silent, Sophie tried to think about what she wanted, it was a weird thing for her. Sophie lowers her head then lifts it quickly having poked herself with her fangs.
"I wish for smaller fangs… if that's possible"
"I'm sure that is Sophie, is there a specific type you are thinking about?"
"Maybe the petite fangs"
They smile at each other before Sophie yawns, she gets up and bid farewell before heading home. Sapphire stays and dozes off in the fields a few minutes later.
(To clarify wishes
Sapphire: twin berries
Sophie: petite fangs)
