Roaming through vast forests, racing through sprawling plains, scaling rugged mountains, and even forging their own bustling cities, the Enivi stand as the dominant species in Eniv.

With sharp wit and boundless creativity, Enivi have shaped their world while living amongst the other animals and spirits that reside there. While many chose a more rustic lifestyle, even those who have grown up in one of the massive cities still have a deep connection to magic and the world around them.

All Enivi belong to a particular Herd, a group of Enivi not bound by heritage, but rather by the deity they follow. There are the mighty Ortusi, the wise Lunasi, the spiritual Vespiri, and the enigmatic Druaesi - each with their own unique customs, beliefs, and traits.

Physical Traits

Enivi, as a whole, are fantastical creatures. Each has a mix of wondrous traits that make them unique and remarkable, and each has the makers of which herd they belong to. With the exception of a few altered by celestial blessing, the arcane, or injury, all Enivi have a set of hooves, horns, fangs, scales, and a visible soul, outside of their body, resting between their horns (excepting, of course, the Druaesi, who often keep their souls inside their plant-fused bodies).

Enivi eyes are front-facing, and have pupils that dilate and constrict to let in or keep out more light. While most Enivi are born with slit pupils, some have often been known to have round, horizontal, or even no visible pupils at all.

Their hooves also vary in shape - from solid, horse-like hooves to cloven hooves, but all equally as powerful.

Despite sharing some common traits, all Enivi herds are visually different. It’s important to take the time to investigate each to learn more about what you love about each herd.

How Can I Change My Enivi’s Traits?

When you first create your Enivi, it will likely have the standard common traits of its herd. You can earn more traits through prompts, buy trait tokens through the shop with Star Shards, or earn them through events. Some specialty traits are only available by donation or charity fundraisers.

Magic

From the moment they awaken in the world, all Enivi have a connection to the magic in Eniv. Ranging from simple magic like levitating objects to the powerful ability to control snow storms or bond with animals, all Enivi have the ability to learn to harness and grow their magical abilities.

How Can My Enivi Learn Magic?

All Enivi start with the ability to do small spells. You can do things like create sparkles or levitate objects - daily activities that would help you showcase your Enivi’s personality. If you’d like to showcase them doing more powerful spells, just work it into their story! This is your character here in Eniv, and as long as their magic isn’t story-breaking for other characters, it’s fine to have it. Your personal story with the character doesn’t hurt the other players. However, keep in mind that if you start to roleplay and interact with other players, you may need to dumb down your Enivi’s abilities if you’ve made them too powerful.

Diet

In this, the Age of Tranquility, the herds find themselves in a state of mutual aid. They share their boundaries with one another, allowing travel and trade. This has opened up a wide variety of food options for Enivi who might not have had them before.

Ortusi have been known to trade their prized spices and grain for a Lunaesi’s catch of the day, while the Vespiri may trade shellfish, and a Druaesi may bring nuts and game meat. Each herd has their own unique take on dishes and flavors they can bring to the table.

Enivi are, by nature, omnivores. Some may choose to be vegetarian, but their diet may naturally include meat with no consequence. While each individual has their own tastes, there are some preferences among the herds.

The Ortusi lean toward vegetable and grain based diets with occasional fish or red meat. The Lunaesi thrive on high-protein meals that lean heavily on freshwater fish. The Vespiri, despite the varied options at their hooves, seem to prefer seafood. Meanwhile the Druaesi have a preference for red meat and insects, often turning their nose up to vegetables.

Life Cycle

A new Enivi is born when two or three parents decide they’d like to have a child. The group comes together to merge their magic with a Mystic Lily, which quickly forms into the new Enivi Kid.

Traditionally, a Vespir Temple Tenderi is there to oversee the process and help the group with the magic, as they’re trained in this form of magic under the guidance of Vesper.

Kids are born with virtually no traits. They’re a blank slate of sorts. They may have one of their parents’ ears or eyes, but they’ll have no specific traits of their herd until their Blessing Ceremony.

The Blessing Ceremony takes place at the temple of their parents’ choosing, where they are presented to the deity and given their “First Blessing”. This is when their first herd traits appear and they become one of the herd.

Each individual family or community group may have a secondary coming-of-age ritual as well, Enivi are varied in their cultures and practices even within their larger herd.

The lifespan of an Enivi can be well over a century, but when they do finally grow old, they return to Vesper to rest. Traditionally, a Vespiri will guide them beyond the veil to Vesper, who will keep the Enivi’s soul safe and well cared for after their final journey.
